We have a very special guest this week, a long-time supporter of the podcast, an even longer friend to each of the crew, and most importantly, one heck of a human being.
Alse joins us to talk about his farming life, what it's been like to start farming from scratch, and what kind of lessons have been learned growing up around the agriculture industry.
Also, we give a recap of the Ag on Ice farm show in Devil's Lake, do we think more shows should be this way? YES!  And, we got to meet a celebrity in the Ag world!

Special guest this episode, Eric from Eric's Custom 3D Grain Setups talks us through his business of custom, one-off 3D printed grain bins and elevators.  How has the toy/collector market changed over the last decade, how much detail can be applied with current technology, and how he's built this business from the ground up.
He also talks about how he is able to take practically any farmer's grain bin setup, just using pictures sent in by the farmers, to make a precision scale replica.
He was also generous enough to donate one of his lighted grain bins for us to give away to our podcast listeners.  Stay tuned to find out when and how YOU can win this one-of-a-kind grain bin, either for your collection, or to make your children's dream come true.

He's finally here in person, Brad The Cobbler!  We got a chance to kidnap him off the farm for a sit down about what it's like completely changing careers after a decade+, the differences between constant public interaction, and the sometimes more remote life on the farm, and the mental health perks of farming.

Ep 24: New Year, New Farm

Saturday Jan 03, 2026

Saturday Jan 03, 2026

After year of tough commodity prices, (grow red potatoes, they're not commoditized), lean rain, and high expenses, what are some changes you would like to make to better your farming situation?
We talk about our own personal goals, as well as the goals we have for each other. Remember, it can be helpful to get an opinion from the outside looking in.
And of course, what seems to have become our staple segment, auction purchases. Who's trying to capitalize on the "new" government kickbacks, or is it just lazy farming?
We also discuss the best way to care for our own animals during the cold winter season, why the Centigrade scale needs to make a comeback, and merch that may help you stay warm during this dearth of heat.

Happy New Year, from the Degenerative Agriculture Podcast

Saturday Dec 06, 2025

In honor of our first icy road day of the winter, we got together to discuss our personal side hustles to make some extra cash to cover taxes, rent, and lavish vacations, until farming kicks into gear next spring.  We even have a special listener guest stop by to show us the results of her winter activities (yes, you can bribe us to maybe appear on an episode).  And, to wrap it up, what do farm wives do for side hustles?
Unfortunately, we also have to announce Captain Corporate made a decision this week that will haunt him forever, feel free to heap endless shame at him.
And, it's time for our first podcast giveaway. Listen in for details, all you have to do is like and share our social media posts.

Saturday Nov 22, 2025

On this episode, we discuss one of the more overlooked health aspects of farming: sleep deprivation. How does it affect performance, what do you do to counteract the effects, and tips/tricks to maximize the little amount of sleep you get during the full-on onslaught of planting/harvesting/cattle farming.
We also follow up on previous episode topics, fill you in on auction purchases (they never seem to stop), and most importantly, answer listener questions.
And, how can I forget, BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! We've got officially branded hats for sale now. Listen in for more information, visit our social media sites for pictures, and, for once, DON'T go fuck your hat!

The Son of Saline Soil goes on an epic rant, new knives, tractor sandwiches, and injuries.  We answer listener questions, get off topic, and then back on topic to the main topic:  If we had the chance to build a service truck with multi-corporation farmer money, what are the top 5 features we'd be sure to have.  Plus, at the time of release, we officially have hats available for sale, pricing and purchasing info will be included in the next episode, or posted on Patreon and all social media's before then.

19: Rodent Control

Saturday Oct 25, 2025

Saturday Oct 25, 2025

It's that time of year, the crops are coming off the fields and the vermin are moving into the farmsteads for the winter.  Every degenerate has their own way of managing, or at least attempting to manage the unwanted pet population.  We also try and help a "friend or two" with their infestation issues.
Beet harvest is in full swing, so we give a regional update, and of course, progress of the most important non-commodity crop, potatoes.
