EP 30: Misappropriation Of Funds

  It's everyone's favorite time of year, pay the tax man.  Can you avoid it? Do farmers really not pay any taxes (a common accusation)?  Where should our tax dollars be allocated?
  We've got a list of things that could potentially written off, if you word it the right way.  Is it possible in the present day to rewrite the tax system to work for the people?  Who knows, but we try and solve that issue by supporting the local barley farmers.

  Given current events, we decided it was time to revisit the topic of subsidies, from a different angle, this time more-so from "the systems" side. Have subsides stifled innovation and farmer's choice?  Can "the system" be changed in it's current form to help new and smaller farmers more, if they want help?

Ep 24: New Year, New Farm

  After year of tough commodity prices, (grow red potatoes, they're not commoditized), lean rain, and high expenses, what are some changes you would like to make to better your farming situation?
  We talk about our own personal goals, as well as the goals we have for each other. Remember, it can be helpful to get an opinion from the outside looking in.
  And of course, what seems to have become our staple segment, auction purchases. Who's trying to capitalize on the "new" government kickbacks, or is it just lazy farming?
  We also discuss the best way to care for our own animals during the cold winter season, why the Centigrade scale needs to make a comeback, and merch that may help you stay warm during this dearth of heat.
